What to expect during a portrait session for your dog
A Calm, Considered Experience
Sessions are unhurried and tailored to your dog’s temperament.
With a quiet, patient approach, I create an environment where your dog can settle naturally, allowing their true character to emerge.
Whether energetic or reserved, every dog is approached with care, respect, and understanding.
Following your session, you will be guided through a carefully considered selection of presentation options — from mounted fine art prints to beautifully framed pieces, ready to hang in your home.
The focus is always on creating something lasting, tangible, and deeply personal.
How to Arrange a Portrait
To arrange a portrait, you’re welcome to get in touch via the Contact page. Alternatively, if you’re visiting the Pet Barbers for a grooming appointment, you’re very welcome to step into the studio.
There is no fee for your portrait session.
Afterwards, you’ll be invited to view your dog’s portraits and, in your own time, decide whether you would like to commission a finished piece.
Should you choose to proceed, a 20% deposit is taken, with the balance due when your framed portrait is ready to take home.

Where does the name 'Ask the Dog Photography' come from?
The inspiration for the name came during a conversation while trying to choose a suitable name for the website.
None of the names seemed to fit.
Then a suggestion, ‘Why don’t we ask the dog?’ was shouted out.
That was it!
Ask the Dog Photography was now born.
